(gentle music) - Not acting your age to me means that you are not allowing other people to dictate to you how to live.

You're basically saying, "I'm going to stay open to life and be curious and be willing to have new experiences."

And I feel that's something that, for most of my life, I've always done.

And I think that actually, you know, the power of yes, and making a decision of to do something new, that is so important.

And I really feel that's been a big part in my, in what I consider the success in my life.

(upbeat music) I'm in my 60th year and I feel that I keep fit.

Not like slavishly, but I, you know, I go to the gym, and I'd swim, and I do things that I, that make me feel good.

I think it all should be stuff that makes me feel good.

I still have drinks and I go and have fun.

And I'm a vegan and I eat pretty well, but, you know, once in a while I'll sort of have... Well, I've just been in Scotland, so whenever I go to Scotland, I always have chips and mushy peas.

It's my favorite thing.

(lively music) I dance, and I embrace life, and I do things that bring me joy.

And I think that's also a thing that kind of makes you seem younger.

So, you're in touch with your sort of inner child, I suppose.

The part of you that actually can just say I am experiencing such joy right now.

And a lot of people forget how to do that.

(playful music) When I come here to "Masterpiece," I'm very, you know, buttoned up and all smart.

And in real life, at home, I'm not like that.

I'm like this.

For me, it's about just feeling comfortable, like wearing things that you feel represent you and how you're feeling.

And I just think like find out who you are and let you wear the clothes.

Don't make the clothes wear you.

One of the things about being an actor or being famous or something is that you constantly see pictures of yourself from the past, from decades ago.

And one of the things I've realized is that my lips have disappeared, and that's something that happens as you get older.

The collagen in your body dissipates and, or anything puffy and youthful kind of gets a bit, sort of, what's the word?

Shriveled.

And so I said to my, you know, my lips, I looked at the picture of me from a few decades ago and I said, "I used to be a Kardashian.

Now, I'm a Kenneth Branagh."

(laughs) (gentle music) My ambitions for my 60s, I don't really, I don't know, I just want to keep on having fun and doing things that I enjoy and challenge me.

I'm basically saying, you know, don't feel confined by the social constraints.

Just live your own life and be open and just have a go.
