How to Watch Masterpiece
Masterpiece is available to stream on pbs.org and the free PBS App, available on iPhone, Apple TV, Android TV, Android smartphones, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Fire Tablet, Roku, Samsung Smart TV, and Vizio.
- The thing about hosting a show is that, in a way, (mysterious music) you're sort of creating the mood for the audience to enjoy the type of show.
So on "Masterpiece," I feel I come out and I create this mood that's sort of mysterious and get everyone in the mood for what they're about to see.
And with "The Traitors," it is a very similar thing.
I mean, I'm creating the mood of treachery and this kind of, I'm this crazy man who's invited people to his castle to play this game.
So I very much see the "Masterpiece Mystery!"
host as sort of a relation to "The Traitors" host, just not quite as flamboyant and bonkers.
My eyebrows are going...
It works out even more than it does in "Masterpiece," I think.
No, maybe not.
Maybe "Masterpiece" wins.
When I first talked to "The Traitors" people about playing this character, hosting the show in the form of this dandy Scottish laird character and I also mentioned this sort of James Bond villain, and I said to them, "Maybe I could bring my dog and pat her," and they were like, "Yes!"
So for the first season, Lala, my dog, was supposed to come, but it was because of COVID, one of her jabs was out of date, and so it was through a sort of administrative error, she wasn't able to come.
So she came for the second season and she sort of sits in a basket beside me and I pat her, you know.
Occasionally, you know, you see her.
But during the course of the show being broadcast, people were clamoring for more Lala content, so they kind of put her in more these little closeups.
So now I've spoken to the producer, next year, she's gonna be even more featured.
They want the ones of her like looking out the window when I'm away so they can cut back to the castle, so... Where could Lala be in "Masterpiece"?
I mean, she would be... She'd have to have her own little shadow, you know, amidst the darkness, she'd just be a little... Maybe we could have a "Masterpiece Mystery!"
sort of baby pouch for Lala.
You know, there's a challenge for Katie, the stylist.
